EVAC One recently hosted an Active Armed Offender Executive Briefing and Update to leaders in the property management industry in the aftermath of the West Fields Active Armed Offender Bondi Junction attack. Our panel of experts were representatives from EVAC One senior consultants, high ranking NSW Police and current and former Australian Defence Force Special Forces members from SASR including Mark Donaldson VC. The industry briefing outlined Australian Government current understanding of the increased radicalisation of young Australian males between the ages of 18 and 25 years old and their feelings of despair and helplessness and thoughts of abandonment by the Australian government and their feeling they need to take matters into their own hands. Review of recent Terrorism and Active Armed Offender incidents globally and current trends and identified patterns from international government agencies and possible resembled tactics locally in Australia. | An overview of current Policing Framework nationally and community engagement.ADF Special forces members then examined and explained how members of the public (non-trained in combat environments) will react when placed into a situation of heavy casualty. These members explained in detail combat experiences and the reliance on their level of training to respond correctly. EVAC One consultants then detailed current Emergency Response Planning requirements for those responsible for emergency planning within the context of terrorism and Active Armed Offender incidents.
